Overseas nurses and midwives are given an initial three year contract to work with the NHS thereby getting long term job security. At the end of the contract term you can renew your contract.

All overseas nurses and mid wives, who have completed registration with Nursing and Midwifery Council are offered an impressive salary of Band 5 by NHS, in a salary range of  £25,655 to £31,534. Depending on the years of experience the starting pay may be at the lower or higher end of the range. Converting the same into Indian Rupees will be roughly between 24.60 lakhs to 30.24 lakhs per annum.

Cost area supplement
If you are placed in a Hospitals where the cost of living is high, such as London,  a supplement to basic salary is paid which is meant to assist with cost of living in high cost areas.

Overtime
Certain times are categorized as Unsocial Hours, these being Saturdays midnight to midnight or on week days between 8 pm and 6 am. Time and 30% is paid for these hours. On Sundays and Public Holidays midnight to midnight, time and 60% is paid.

Applicants must be Registered Nurses (both Diploma in General Nursing & Midwifery and BSc. Nursing accepted), currently working in hospital with 100+ beds, have min 6 months of current bedside experience, have an active nursing registration and an updated CV.

You will need to achieve the following scores: Academic IELTS minimum score of 7.0 in Reading, Speaking & Listening and no less than 6.5 in Writing or OET pass at Grade B in Reading, Speaking & Listening and no less than C+ in Writing. NMC part registration is a fairly quick process after your pass your English competency exam and after you pass CBT, the employer who has selected you, will apply for your Work Permit
